About this blog

Urban areas are characterized by higher population density and vast human features in comparison to areas surrounding it. Urban areas are created and further developed by the process of urbanization.

Urban decay is the process whereby a previously functioning city, or part of a city, falls into disrepair. It may feature deindustrialization, depopulation or changing population, economic restructuring, abandoned buildings, high local unemployment, fragmented families, political disenfranchisement, crime, and a desolate, inhospitable city landscape.

This blog explores these areas of urbanization, urban decay, urban locations and suburban satellite cities as well as the people who spend their lives there.
